ECG Training is a veterinary ECG education app for iPhone, iPad and Android, by Javier Miana and Marco Cebrián Muiño. This policy says, in plain words, what data the app handles and why.
01Without an account
The name you type on first launch, your progress, your streak, your medals and your settings (language, theme, sounds) are kept on your device. They are not sent to us. Removing the app removes them.
02When you sign in
Premium and the leaderboards need an account. You sign in with Apple or with Google. We then receive and keep:
- Your email address and an account identifier, from Apple or Google, to recognise your account. With Apple you may choose to hide your email, and we then receive a relay address.
- Your display name, the one you chose in the app.
- Your scores: your total XP and your best score on each level, with the date they were last updated.
We never see your Apple or Google password.
03Leaderboards are public to other players
Your display name and your scores are shown to other players on the leaderboards. Your email address is never shown. Choose a display name you are happy for others to see; you can change it in the app.
04Subscriptions
Premium is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment. We never receive your card or bank details. The app only learns whether a subscription is active.
05Where the data is kept
Accounts and leaderboards run on Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, services of Google, which processes the data on our behalf. As with any online service, their servers see the internet address a request comes from. We do not use it to identify you.
06What we do not do
There are no advertising networks and no analytics or tracking tools in the app. Your data is not sold, shared for advertising or used to profile you. The app does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and it collects no data about any animal: the tracings are simulated.
07Your control
You can delete your account in the app, under Settings. This permanently removes the account, your name and your scores from the leaderboards, and the progress saved on that device. It does not cancel a subscription: cancel that in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You can also write to us to see, correct or delete your data.
08Children
ECG Training is made for veterinary students and professionals. It is not directed at children.
