Privacy Policy

Effective 2 November 2026 · Last updated 2 November 2026

MockUpThis is an app for making app prototypes on the Mac. This policy says, in plain words, what happens to your data. There is very little to say: we never receive it.

Your projects stay on your Mac. MockUpThis has no account, no analytics and no ads. We do not see your prototypes, your settings, or the fact that you used the app.

01What we collect

Nothing. There is no sign-up and no user account, and no server of ours receives your projects, what you search for, your device name or a usage log.

02What stays on your Mac

Your projects, their undo history, the pictures you add and your settings are kept in the app’s own storage on your Mac. Files you export (PNG pictures, PDF, .mocky.json projects) go to your Downloads folder. None of it is uploaded. Deleting the app deletes its storage. We cannot read it.

03What the app asks the internet for

Some features ask public services for things, only when you use them:

  • Photo search sends the words you type to Openverse (api.openverse.org) and Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org). Random photos come from Picsum (picsum.photos).
  • Icon search sends the words you type to Iconify (api.iconify.design). The 1,900 built-in icons need no connection.
  • Avatars and abstract art come from DiceBear (api.dicebear.com).
  • Fonts for the app style you pick come from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).

These are plain requests: nothing about you or your projects is sent with them. As with any request, the service that answers sees the internet address it came from; each one has its own privacy policy.

04Share links

A share link carries your whole prototype inside the link itself. Nothing is uploaded to make it. Whoever you send it to can see the prototype, so only send it to people you want to see it.

05AI agents

If you turn on “Let AI agents control MockUpThis” in Settings (it is off until you do), the app listens on your Mac only (127.0.0.1), with a private key, for the helper that AI agents such as Claude Code or Codex run. What your agent sends to its own company is governed by that agent and its company, not by us; MockUpThis sends nothing to them by itself.

06Purchases

The free trial, the lifetime unlock and the monthly subscription go through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive no card details, name or email from it. The app only checks with Apple, on your Mac, whether you have the trial, the unlock or an active subscription.

07Children

MockUpThis is made with students in mind and collects nothing from anyone, children included.

08Your control

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on request. You can delete any project in the app, turn AI agents off in Settings, or delete the app, and what it kept goes with it.
